If your retirement savings plan at work is your largest account…
Pre-tax contributions got you this far. Now what?
If a large portion of your retirement nest egg is in an employer-sponsored plan like a 401(k), 403(b) or TSP, or in a traditional IRA, three big decisions are looming as retirement approaches: how and when to draw those accounts down, whether to convert any of those dollars to Roth accounts, and when to claim Social Security.
There are many other variables, but these three are usually top of mind. Each carries significant weight on its own, and they are all connected to one another, often creating a “ripple effect” that can be felt for years, or even decades.
Join me for this 40-minute educational session on how these (and other) pieces fit together.

This is a 40-minute educational webinar. There is no cost to attend and no products will be sold. I cap attendance at 50 seats to keep the group small, and I will answer a few questions at the end.
I will send you the session link and two reminders, plus occasional retirement planning resources. I do not share or sell your information. Read our privacy notice.
Frequently asked questions
Who is this really for?
While anyone is welcome to attend, this session is best for individuals and couples within about three years of retirement, or recently retired, who carry a large proportion of their savings in pre-tax accounts.
What topics will be covered?
This session covers a lot of ground and is built from questions we most often receive from clients. Here’s just a sample of our topics:
- When should we claim Social Security?
- How can I avoid “tax traps” with my pre-tax savings?
- Does a Roth conversion make sense for me?
- How can I know if I have “enough” for retirement?
Will I have to sit through a sales pitch?
No! This session is focused on providing helpful information, and nothing will be for sale. If you have questions or want help with your own situation, I will tell you how to arrange that at another time.
Is there a replay available?
No. I run these live so the material stays current and so I can answer a few questions at the end. If this date doesn’t work for you, check back here for the next one. And if a one-to-one conversation would suit you better, you can book that at the bottom of this page.
Do I need to be on camera?
No. You will see and hear me. I will not see you, and other attendees cannot see you either.

Meet your presenter…
My name is Steve Durdin, and I work almost exclusively with individuals and couples who are nearing retirement, or who are already there. Most of the households I work with have spent a career saving inside employer plans, which means they arrive with one large pre-tax balance and a set of decisions nobody prepared them for.
I am a Registered Social Security Analyst (RSSA®), a designation for advisors who specialize in Social Security claiming strategy. I hold the Certified in Long-Term Care (CLTC®) designation, and as an investment adviser representative I am held to a fiduciary standard, meaning I am required to put your interests ahead of my own.

Building the nest egg took decades.
Deciding how to put it to work starts here.
I look forward to having you at one of our educational retirement planning sessions! There is no cost and nothing for sale. My goal is always to educate and inform, in the hope that you come away with greater understanding and more peace of mind.
